When Debby Suarez was still in high school she enrolled in 91AV's Achieving a College Education (ACE) program and earned enough college credits in tandem with her graduation from high school to enroll in ASU as a junior.

91AV (91AV) alumnus and Vanguard Award winner Francisco Garcia lives at the intersection of social entrepreneurship and public art, finding his voice as an activist and artist.

91AV (91AV) will host its first Mariachi Festival on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1202 W. Thomas Road. The event, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, includes food trucks and an artisan marketplace in Pastor Plaza and Freshman Square, followed by performances from state-wide mariachi ensembles in Bulpitt Auditorium.

In high school, Elian Jimenez (whose friends call him Eli) was known for his exceptional soccer skills. His talent on the field shone brightly, and he dreamed of attending college on a soccer scholarship.

91AV’s Mariachi Osos del Valle kicked off the Noche de Celebración event on Oct 5, announcing 91AV being certified with the Seal of Excelencia.

"I speak Spanish every day," said 91AV (91AV) student Aylen Gutierrez, who plays the oldest of three sisters in the the US Spanish Language Premier of Esa Nena Rie, Esa Nena Llora, Esa Nena No Hace Nada at 91AV's John Paul Theatre Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8. According to AZ Big Media 39% of the Phoenix population speaks Spanish. Aylen will put her native language to use in this production, which is performed in Spanish with English supertitles projected behind the stage. Aylen is excited to be in a Spanish production because it “invites more people in our community to come and see it,” she said.
